CC: Collection day as Long Lane Shopping partners with Habitat for Humanity and Bonded Logic for a new home insulation initiative
On the 5th of February, Long Lane Shopping(LLS) confirmed its partnership with Habitat for Humanity and Bonded Logic to collect old denim for use in home insulation project. The purpose of this memo is to explain some details of the partnership and find volunteers for the collection day.
As clients became more concerned with sustainability, businesses all over Canada started to invest more funds in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. Many consumers now hold companies accountable for their CSR practices making sure businesses take responsibilities for the social impacts on the local communities. For a long time, LLS has been an active member of the community and we want all the employees to get involved in giving back to society. To provide better housing for low-income families in Ontario, we launched the home insulation project earlier this year. Together with Habitat for Humanity and Bonded Logic, the famous Toronto-based charities, LLS will be able to quickly and effectively collect old denim. Donated denim will then be used for the home insulation project to raise awareness on poor housing conditions during winter.
The main event for the collection of denim will take place on the 15th of April and we need volunteers to help at the Student Centre from 10 am to 5 pm at 55 Sweetwater St. in Toronto. Representatives from the charities will also be there with snacks and drinks provided. If you’re interested in helping out, please email me with your name and your available hours. On top of that, the more denim we can collect the better, so please spread the word about our initiative on your corporate social media accounts and let your friends and family know.
Please let me know if you any more questions or comments.
