Java Bean to open its first café in Toronto
On the 21st of February, the first-ever Java Bean café is set to open in Toronto as the coffee chain launches its national expansion program.
TORONTO, ON., – February 8, 2019 – As weather forecast still predicts lower temperatures, Java Bean café opening will be a great addition to the Toronto café scene. Founded in Halifax, Java Bean became famous for its ethical sourcing and the on-site bakery. Toronto is also just a first stop in their national expansion program that will see more Java Beans opening all over the country. “Following our great success in our home town, we felt that the time has come to take Java Bean further and share our love for coffee with all the Canadians,” said Nick Floa, vice president of operations.
Java Bean found its fame in Halifax not just for its café but also for its socially conscious coffee beans sourcing. Since the beginning, Java Bean only sourced directly from farmers ensuring a fairer price and better working conditions for coffee growers. “We have always been committed to fair trade and helping disadvantaged farmers as it fostered real relationships between us and our suppliers,” commented Ann Brewels, director of Java Beans.
Java Bean on-site bakery has also been trending on social media for a while now as their famous custard-filled croissants blew everyone away. The head chef at Java Bean, Olga Smith, said: “We never expected our bakery to go that viral and we cannot wait to share our pastries with the rest of Canada!” Apart from the famous croissants, Java Bean serves a variety of other desserts and sandwiches that everyone will be able to enjoy in their cozy cafés. Their small bites will also serve as a great lunch alternative for anyone who is always on the go.
Java Bean is set to open at 78 Queen St., Toronto, on the 21st of February.
